Clare Expecting Tough Championship Opener

The man who will captain Clare in Sunday’s Munster Championship opener against Limerick says the side is expecting a very tough encounter.

The Banner travel to Semple Stadium on Sunday for a local derby unlike any other, given the absence of crowds and the fact that the League championship is on the line.

David McInerney is filling in as captain for the injured John Conlon in Clare’s first competitive match back since lockdown – a number of players including Aidan McCarthy, Paul Flanagan, Cathal McInerney and Jack Browne are all injury doubts.
