The Banner overcame Limerick by nine points at the Gaelic Grounds, but were kept honest by the home side who trailed by just 0-12 to 0-10 at half-time.

In the second half though, Clare pulled away and won 2-20 to 1-14, with the Banner goals coming from Peter Duggan and first Aaron Cunningham.

The Wolfe Tones man though was stretchered off late on after picking up a knee injury.

Clare now face Tipperary in the Munster semi-final in Ennis on July 16th.

Elsewhere, Wexford will meet Offally in the next round after the defending Leinster champions beat Kilkenny 2-14 to 0-10.

Westmeath hammered Carlow 3-19 to 0-10.
