Donal Moloneys side beat Limerick 1-26 to 2-18 after extra time in the Gaelic Grounds.

A strong showing in extra time saw Clare edge out their neighbours to take a first title at the grade since 2011.

The Banners goal came in the opening half through Oisin Donnellan, and saw the game level at half time.

The game was deadlocked after normal time too, with a late point from Clare's Rory Hayes forcing the added period.

Donal Moloneys side began the added period much the stronger, and built a 4 point lead heading into the final 10 minutes.

That proved the crucial move of the game, as the Banner ran out 5 point winners to claim the title and set up an All Ireland Final meeting with either Wexford or Kilkenny in August.
