Clare chairman confident change to league structure will happen

Co board chairman Michael O Neill is hopeful that there may be some change to the structure of the national hurling league before the competiton starts next Feburary.

At central council last month the counties voted in favour of restructing the league with Clare now set to play in  division 1B along with this years league winners Limerick  and Wexford who avoided relegation to division two.

Several division one hurling sides including Tipperray,Kilkenny and Cork met on Wednesday in thurles to discuss their opposition while Clare were not represented

At last evening’s board meeting it was also announced that a   decison on the secondary county grounds will finally be announced at the  October meeting of the board while intermediate selector Niall romer once again pleaded to delegates  not to allow any change to the grade that clare won Munster and All Ireland titles in this year.
