Newmarket hosted St Josephs in Round 2 of Division 1 league last Saturday morning. Newmarket played with aid of a very strong wind in the first half and asserted dominance on the game from the very beginning.

Jenny Kelly, Laura and Roisin McMahon all hit points from play with free taker Rachel Kelleher scoring six frees to leave Newmarket with a nine point to no score advantage at half time.

Although with a strong wind behind St Josephs in the second half, it was Newmarket that continued to put the pressure on and within the first five minutes had 2 goals, one from Niki Kaiser with the other from Zoe McInerney. Albeit with the wind St Jospehs could never get a grip on game and found it difficult to break down a resolute Newmarket team.
