Clare Camogie Club Stars Awarded

Clare Camogie hosted their annual Awards Night in the West County Hotel in Ennis last night with over five hundred people in attendance.

2013 All Star Chloe Morey was on hand to make the presentations to the Under 16 A Munster champions, and the banner county’s underage development squads.

Over 10 Clubs were also represented across the grades with the Club Star awards, Scariff Oggonnelloe leading the way with three awards.

Sixmilebridge and Clare All Star Morey says recognising the clubs and the county’s young stars is important for the development of the game.

The Lifetime Achievement Awards and Volunteer of the year awards were also presented at last nights function.

Bridie O’Looney of Newmarket on Fergus was recognised for over 50 years of work at Club and County level with the lifetime achievement award.

The current Clare Delegate to Munster Council, Provincial trophies officer and Child protection Officer says her contribution is purely down to a love of the game.

Breda Daffy of Clooney Quin was also presented with the Clare Camogie Volunteer of the Year award for 2013.

Currently fulfilling the post of Chairperson, she has been involved with Clooney Quin since 2002 in many capacities and accepting her award Breda admits it’s an honour for herself and the club.
