Clare camogie celebrate opening of Fr Mc Namara park

Clare camogie is celebrating today with the opening of its own pitch in Doora-Fr Mc Namara park.

The long awaited opening comes after almost 30 years of work from camogie officals as well as councillors and dozens of volunteers.

Today’s event was attended by the President of Ireland Michale D Higgins  as well as Gaa President Liam O Neill and Camogie president Aileen Lawlor.

The offical opening was preceeded   by an Irish international camogie shinty game which Ireland lost by 5-6 to 1-2.

The home side’s only goal from Cushla Hehir in the dying moments.
