Clare bring home 18 medals from World Handball Championships

Clare comes home with a total of 18 medals – 10 gold and 8 silver-  from 10 days of competitions at the World Handball Championships.

In the Girls U13 Doireann Murphy (Clarecastle) and Ella Donnellan (Kilkishen) won gold in both
the 40 x 20 doubles and one wall doubles and Ella Donnellan also won silver in the one wall singles having been overcome by Aoibhinn Henderson.

Diarmuid Nash from Derg won a gold and a silver medal- gold in the 40 x 20 U23
singles and also took home gold in the 40 x 20 doubles having paired of with club man Niall Malone (Derg).

Lisa Loughnane (Clooney) won silver in a tiebreaker in the women’s one wall singles C competition.

The Tulla pairing of Colin Corbett and Niall Bolton took home gold in the Boys U17 doubles

John Cawley (Shannon) took home silver in the mens golden masters 40 x 20 singles.

Declan Frawley had to withdraw due to injury in the semi-finals of the over 35 40 x 20 competition.
