Clare boxer David Ryan has been nominated for the Irish-boxing.com Professional Debut of the Year Award.
Formerly fighting out of Shannon Kickboxing Club, the South-Clare man already had a thoroughly successful career in martial arts before making his conventional boxing debut in November.
David’s professional debut in the light welterweight class was broadcast lived on TG4 where he was declared the winner on the judges scorecards after an enthralling four round bout against Nicaraguan Brayan Mairena in Belfast.
David says winning the professional debut of the year award would be the perfect way to kickstart his career.
The awards ceremony is due to be held in Dublin on Thursday January 26th where David’s Coach Shaun Kelly is also up for the trainer of the year prize.
