Clare boss Colm Collins is facing a four-week sideline ban.

Collins has confirmed to RTÉ that he won’t be contesting the ban that he’s been handed following a verbal altercation with a linesman in the aftermath of the incident which saw Jamie Malone handed a red card in Sunday’s drawn Allianz League clash with Tipperary.

Clare will be appealing that decision, in the hope that they won’t have to go without the Corofin man for two weeks.

Malone was sent off after an incident which saw Tipperary selector Shane Stapleton subsequently fall onto concrete near the dugout during the second half of Sunday’s clash in Ennis.

Stapleton was taken to hospital but has since been released.
