Clare beat Galway in hurling league

Clare have beaten Galway by 0-18 to 1-13 in Cusack park in the Allianz hurling league divison one

In a game played in damp conditions in Ennis Clare led by 12 to 0-8 at half time having played with the aid of a strong first half wind.

Galway’s Joe Canning scored a goal from a 21 metre free midway through the second half but Clare,led by Colin Ryan and John Conlon as well as the impressive David Mc Inerney at full back held on for their first win in Divison one.

Tipperary beat Kilkenny by 2-17 to 1-19 at Semple Stadium.

John O’Dywer and Lar Corbett scored the goals for Tipp after Richie Hogan found the net for Kilkenny.

Tommy Walsh was sent off for the All Ireland champions while Noel McGrath was shown a red card for Tipp.
