Two Clare Athletes have brought home a combined total of three Gold Medals following the 9th World Masters Championship in Poland.
Barefield native and Mariam Athletic Club member, Eugene Moynihan placed 4th in the mens over 65 cross country event, with his high placed finish, helping his Irish team to the gold medal position.
Meanwhile, Ennis Track clubwoman, Rachel Akers claimed the top prize in the 4kg Hammer throw event, achieveing a distance of 53.5metres before setting a new national record by delivering a 16.09m throw in the 9kg weight event.
Bodyke native, Akers says securing the national record will forever be a highlight in her life.
