‘ Finian’s Rainbow ‘ beat favourite ‘ Sizing Europe ‘ to claim the Queen Mother Champion Chase and give Nicky Henderson and a day to remember at Cheltenham with four winners.
The race was marred by a fall to ‘ Wishful Thinking ‘ who crashed through some railings and jockey Richard Johnson collided with a French photographer.
As a result ‘ Finian’s Rainbow ‘ and ‘ Sizing Europe ‘ had to run around the final fence.
Henderson now has most winners in the history of the Cheltenham festival with 44 .
Henderson’s other wins came in the RSA Chase with ‘ Bobs Worth ‘ finishing ahead of ‘ First Lieutenant ‘.
Race favourite ‘ Grand Crus ‘ was a disappointing fourth.
Win number 41 for Henderson came in the Novices’ Hurdle with ‘ Simonsig ‘ coming home in first place ahead of ‘ Felix Yonger ‘.
40-1 outsider ‘ Une Artiste ‘ just won the Juvenile Handicap hurlde to give him his fourth win.
Elsewhere today the Coral Cup was won by Son of Flicka ‘ while the opening race of the day went to 5 to 1 favourite ‘ Tea for Three ‘.
