The Blues lost 3-2 to Rubin Kazan yesterday but won 5-4 on aggregate.
Spurs went out on penalties at the hands of Basel after the game finished 2-all on the night and 4-all on aggregate while Newcastle lost 4-2 on aggregate to Benfica following a 1-all draw on the night at Saint James’s Park.
