Questions have been asked of Davy Fitzgerald's future following Clare's loss to Galway.

The result means Clare will have gone three seasons without reaching an All-Ireland semi-final since lifting Liam McCarthy in 2013.

Clare did win the National League this year, and Fitzgerald has another year left in his term, and county board chair Joe Cooney says they'll now look back on the season just gone.

eanwhile, a member of the Clare hurlers backroom team has praised the committment shown by the players this year.

Donal Og Cusack says the players are devastated by the result, but he insists they have given their all for the jersey this season.
