The move has been in the pipeline for the last couple of the months but their transfer to the Clare Soccer League was confirmed by the Munster Football Association. Shannon Town have been a member of the Limerick Leagues for the past number of years and their return has been greatly welcomed in Clare Soccer circles.

Speaking today, CDSL Secretary and PRO, Oliver Fitzpatrick believes the return of Shannon Town can only strengthen Clare soccer. “It's great for Clare soccer to have them back and their players, teams, committee and facilities will only make the CDSL and CSSL stronger”. Fitzpatrick added that he is delighted to see the club return and he wished them the very best upon their return.

Once next season commences, Shannon Town will field two to three adult teams plus one Youths and U17 team. While their transfer has yet to be approved at CSSL level, if it is successful, the club is confident of having a team at each grade in the Schoolboys League.
