Kilkenny were crowned All-Ireland Senior Hurling champions for the 34th time yesterday with a 3-22 to 3-11 win over Galway at Croke Park in their replay.

David Burke scored two first half goals for Galway but Kilkenny still lead by 4 points at the break.
Walter Walsh hit 1-3 for Kilkenny on his Championship début while Richie Power and Colin Fennelly got the other goals for the Cats.
Henry Shefflin who has now won 9 All Ireland titles finished up with nine points.
In the curtain raiser at Croke Park, Tipperary were crowned Minor Hurling Champions after they beat Dublin by 2-18 to 1-11 in their replay.
