Aaron Fitzgerald’s absence is the biggest news coming out of the Éire Óg camp ahead of tomorrow’s senior football championship quarter-final against Doonbeg.
The unbeaten Townies are favourites but haven’t reached the final four stage since 2014.
Clare defender Fitzgerald suffered an injury during the hurler’s unsuccessful quarter-final against Sixmilebridge last Saturday.
But Éire Óg manager Paul Madden says their captain’s loss can provide an opportunity for someone else.
Throw-in at Miltown Malbay tomorrow is 3.45pm.
