Capello Quits England

After just over four years in the job, and just four months before the Euro 2012 championships, Fabio Capello has quit as manager of England.

The Italian was furious that FA had gone over his head to strip John Terry of the captaincy over allegations of racism.

On Sunday Capello told Italian television of his disappointment at that decision.

Current Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is now favourite to take over from Capello – he was cleared of tax evasion charges by a court in London yesterday.

The English FA are to hold a press conference on the matter this afternoon.
