In news of athletics, Clare runners will be busy over the festive period with a number of events set to take place in the county

On St. Stephen’s Day, Ennis Track Club have their annual four and two mile events, beginning at Ballyea Community Centre. Walkers will set out at 12:30 and runners at 1:00,
On the same afternoon, Ennis UDC, in conjunction with Marian Athletic Club, will host their turkey trot event, starting at Waterpark House in DrumbigDrumbiggle at 12:00, while events will also be held in Limerick, Athenry and Farranfore in County Kerry.
The 27th then sees the Burren Charity Challenge, organised by the Burren Cycling and Kilnaboy athletics clubs, while the Lahinch to Cliffs of Moher 10k run gets underway at 10:00
