The manager of the Burren Gaels ladies football squad is hopeful their winning momentum from last year’s campaign will continue when they make the step up to senior level.

The North Clare outfit captured intermediate honours last season, and begin life in the top tier by taking on Kilmihil in their opening round on Sunday.

County star Lizzy Roche will be key to their challenge, when they take on the West Clare side who got their championship off to a winning start last weekend.
