Build up to Hurling Championship Continues

There are now just two days until the beginning of this year’s county hurling championship, and the beginning of Crusheen’s defence of the Canon Hamilton.

Michael Browne’s side are the first in action this Friday, when they face a Broadford side who reached the Quarter-Final last year, but are still seeking a first ever county title.

Should the retain the county title once more, then Crusheen would become the first side to achieve a three-in-a-row since 1974 but manager Michael Browne insists his team are taking it one game at a time

The other game in Group 2 this weekend takes place in Clarecastle on Saturday afternoon, and sees Tulla play Newmarket.

Tulla are another side who reached the last eight in 2011, but many feel they will be up against it when they take on a Newmarket team with a number of county stars.

Having missed out on the knock-out stages last year, and manager Bob Enright feels a strong start is what’s required to rectify that this time around
