Bradford Dump Villa Out Of League Cup

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert says their defending at set pieces was once again at fault during last nights 2-1 win over Bradford in the league cup semi final second leg.

The victory was not enough to keep them in the competition with the league two side winning 4-3 on aggregate.

Benteke put Villa in front in the first half but Hanson got to the end of a corner to equalise for the Bantoms, Weisman scored in the 89th minute but Villa couldn’t find  another goal meaning they crashed out.

Donegal’s Carl Mc Hugh played in defence for the visitors while Shay Given, Ciaran Clark and Stephen Ireland all started for the hosts.

Tonight Swansea hosts Chelsea in the second semi final second leg.

The Welsh side lead 2-0 going into that tie.
