Board meets to discuss fixtures possible backlog

The Clare county board are to set to hold a special meeting this evening to discuss possible changes to the master fixtures plan over the coming weeks.

Clare’s progress in the Football,U21 and minor hurling championships has led the board to suggest that some championship games may be played midweek to avoid a fixture backlog.

If Clare’s footballers beat Kerry on Saturday the start of the club senior championship will be deferred until the middle of the month which will also have an impact on the county senior hurling championship.

The meeting takes place at 8-30 tonight at the West county hotel.
