Bizarre Scenes Leave Clare LGFA In Disarray As Chair Adjourns Meeting Of Delegates

Most meetings of County Boards can be rather dull but July’s board meeting of the Clare LGFA certainly wasn’t.

A larger than normal crowd descended upon Woodstock hotel on Tuesday evening but as the meeting was about to commence Clare LGFA chairperson Teresa Rosingrave adjourned the meeting for what she called “unforeseen circumstances”

This did not go down well with one delegate saying ” You can’t adjourn a County Board meeting ” to which the Doora Barefield club member responded. ” I’m the chairperson of Clare LGFA and I can ” before walking out along with Treasurer Diane Hassett, Assistant Treasurer Edel Keavey and PRO Caoimhe McMahon.

Several players from the flagship side of Clare LGFA were present at the meeting and while none of them wanted to be named they were willing to say that the main objective of the meeting was the ratification of dates for the upcoming championship fixtures which of course can now not take place. This wasn’t good enough they said as players have been training since January and need to know the dates so they can plan ahead.

Players, club delegates and members of the local media waited for an hour to see would there be any communication from the board.

There wasn’t and all left dismayed and disappointed at the events that transpired leaving Clare LGFA in a state of disarray.
