Banner Stage Remarkable Comeback To Salvage Draw Against Cork

Clare staged a remarkable second half comeback to salvage a draw against Cork in their opening game of the Munster Hurling championship.

Brian Hayes netted twice for the visitors in the first half, having also done so when the sides met in the league, to give cork a 2-15 to 0-09 lead.

Three second half goals from Aidan McCarthy, David Reidy and Peter Duggan saw the Banner fight back and earn a point on a score of Clare 3-21 Cork 2-24.

Earlier Clare were defeated by the same opposition in the Munster camogie championship semi final.

Cork ran out comprehensive winners by 2-22 to 10 points.
