Banner ladies and Doonbeg Dublin bound for All ireland sevens


Doonbeg and Banner Ladies will represent Clare in the TESCO All Ireland 7s which will take place on Saturday at St. Sylvestors and Naomh Mhearnog in Dublin.
 
Doonbeg will be in the Junior grade and will play Aghada (Cork), Clontarf (Dublin), Beagh (Galway) and Carryduff (Down) in the group stages.  Banner Ladies were crowned All Ireland Intermediate champions last year so this year are moved up to the senior grade where they will play Bryansford (Down), St. Ultans (Meath), Caherlistrane (Galway) and Clan Na Gael (Dublin).  The top team in each group will advance to the knockout stages of the cup competition while the second placed team will play off for the shield title.
 
On Sunday the TG4 Junior, Intermediate and Senior Finals will take place at Croke Park.  New York and Wicklow contest the Junior final at noon while Cavan and Westmeath meet in the Intermediate final at 2p.m.  The senior final sees Munster champions Cork return to headquarters after an absence of a year and here the face Monaghan at 4p.m
