Ballyea Record Victory Over Crusheen

Ballyea have defeated Crusheen in the sides’ Round One clash in the Clare Senior Hurling Championship.

Having lifted the Canon Hamilton in 2016 and 2018, Ballyea will be hoping another even-yeared success and got off to the best start today with a 0-16 to 0-14 points win.

The game was tight throughout, including in the opening stages when a number of Crusheen wides helped Ballyea steal a slender advantage, 0-8 to 0-7 at half-time.

Both teams would score the same number of points in the second half, but Ballyea, with Tony Kelly to the fore, were able to keep their opponents at arm’s length.

Manager Kevin Sheehan gave an honest assessment of his team’s performane after the full-time whistle.
