Clare Handballer Diarmuid Nash contests his first Senior Singles All Ireland Championship Final this afternoon in Cavan.
The Tuamgraney club man takes on top seed, Westmeaths Robbie McCarthy.
The pair last met in January’s Gaffney Memorial Final where Nash prevailed 11-2 in a tiebreaker. Since then Nash reached the Houston Pro-Stop Final, with McCarthy reaching the New York Pro-Stop Final.
Regardless of the result todays final will see a new name on the All-Ireland Men’s Senior Singles Roll of Honour, with Paul Brady winning every year since 2004.
Nash looks to become the first Clare man to capture the title since Pat Kirby in 1980.
That's underway from 3 o'clock in Kingscourt Cavan.
However, Clare hopes are not just pinned on Nash this afternoon, as the county is represented in the Minor Final.
Fergal Coughlan from Clooney Quin is going up against Tyrones Johnny Woods. they get the action underway in Kingscourt from 1pm.
Coughlan is in his first year at Minor level following his All Ireland U16 win last year, and this year looks to follow up on his All-Ireland Intermediate Colleges Singles title.
