Berwick Callinan Murphy Solicitors Clare U21A Hurling Semi Final: Scariff-Ogonnellloe 2-10 Doora Barefield 0-10
It will be an all East Clare U21A hurling final as Scariff Ogonnelloe held off a third quarter surge from Doora Barefield to set up a showdown with neighbours Feakle-Killanena
Scariff-Ogonnelloe led by 1-8 to 0-4 at half time thanks in part to Patrick Crotty’s goal and some excellent free taking from Ben Sweeney.
In a game played with a tricky swirling wind, Doora Barefield thundered into the contest in the third quarter, out scoring their opponents by 0-6 to 0-1 to leave just two between them entering the closing stages.
The clinching score of the game arrived when the flight of a high dropping ball into the Doora Barefiled square deceived the defence, and Sweeney was on hand to sweep the ball to the net to ultimately decide the contest.
The final is set for next Saturday with the venue TBC
