Aldridge hits out at Republic of Ireland players

Former Ireland striker John Aldridge says the players and not just the manager must take responsibility for the poor performances in recent games.

Giovanni Trapattoni is under pressure heading into tonight’s World cup qualifier with the Faroe Islands in Torshavn following our poor displays in the last two qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Germany.

Aldridge who played in for Ireland 69 times scoring 19 goals says the players have let themselves down.
