Clooney/Quin were the first side to book their spot in the last eight of the 2015 Clare Senior Hurling Championship after they beat Newmarket in dramatic fashion.
They trailed 0-8 to 0-7 at the break, and it was Newmarket who led 0-13 to 0-11 with time almost up.
Clare senior panellist Peter Duggan then found the back of the Blues net with a free to give his side the win by a single point, 1-11 to 0-13.
They now go direct to the quarter final, while Newmarket go to the playoff round.
Next to put their names into the quarter final draw were Clonlara after they beat O'Callaghans Mills by 3-14 to 1-11
The sides were level at the break, with Nicky O'Connells penalty leaving it 1-4 to 0-7.
A second Clonlara goal from Cormac Donovan sent them 2-9 to 0-9 clear with ten minutes to play, but Colin Crehan netted for the Mills to cut the gap to just two.
Substitute Ian Galvin then grabbed a third for Clonlara to put the result beyond doubt and book their place in the last 8.
The Mills join Newmarket in the playoff round.
Sixmilebridge are also through to the last eight after they saw off a dogged Crusheen by 0-17 to 1-12.
Last years beaten finalists got the perfect start when joint Clare senior captain Cian Dillion goaled to see them 1-1 to 0-0 ahead after just 4 minutes.

The second half ebbed and flowed but the 2013 champions always kept their noses in front to take the two point win.
Eire Óg meanwhile got over a late scare from Tubber to book their spot in the playoff round while the North Clare side now face a relegation semi final.
