8 first round games were down for decision this weekend.

Defending champions Miltown were first into the hat as they battled past Wolfe Tones.

Kilkee left it late before edging past neighbours O'Currys, St Breckans produced a strong second half to beat Kilrush, while Lissycasey were always in control as they beat Ennistymon.

Cratloe were comfortable winners over Corofin, Kilmurry exacted revenge for recent defeats against Eire Og, Doonbeg eventually got the better of Clondegad, while Cooraclare came with a late flourish to beat St Joseph's Doora Barefield.

The eight winners play off for a place in the quarter finals, with the losers here having one more chance to get back in the race for Jack.

The eight losers will play for the right to stay in the championship, with whoever falls staring at a relegation dogfight.

Dates for the draw and ties are to be confirmed.
