2016 has begun in a winning fashion for the Clare senior hurlers and footballers.
Both sides won their opening games of the Munster pre season competitions.
Late goals for both sides proved crucial as the new year got off to the perfect start.
Davy Fitzgerald and new selector Donal Og Cusack saw their side beat Cork 1-14 to 0-14 in the Munster Hurling League, thanks to a 64th minute strike from goalpoacher supreme Shane O'Donnell.
Next up for them is the visit of Kerry to Sixmilebridge on Wednesday January 13th.
The footballers left it even later to see off the challenge of Tipperary in a 1-10 to 1-9 win.
They trailed by two as the clock ticked into the red, but Miltown's Kieran Malone finished to the net to ensure full points for Colm Collins men.
They also face the Kingdom in their next outing, which comes in the form of a trip to Fitzgerald Stadium next Sunday afternoon.
A win there would see them into the McGrath Cup Final.
