In 1996, Ollie Byrnes published a comprehensive history of Clare hurling, from pre-GAA times to the current championships in his book Against the Wind: Memories of Clare Hurling. It drew on over 130 interviews, many of these with the living greats of Clare hurling whose memories stretch back to the period of World War I. Now, Ollie has returned and has published a follow-up book called With the Wind: A History of Clare Hurling Part 2. This new publication covers the exciting and successful years in Clare hurling from Clare’s All Ireland win in 1995 to date.
