On Thursday’s Morning Focus, Alan was joined by Tom Cussen who is the Owner of Clareen Banjos and is the leader and original member of Shaskeen Trad Group along with Kevin Keane who is the organiser of the Pat Costello tribute night. They discussed the upcoming tribute night in memory of the late Pat Costello that is set to take place in the Grove Bar & Restaurant on Friday 14th of April. Pat who passed away on the 1st of April 2020 was a presenter of the West Wind and his own quintessential Gentle Folk that was broadcast on Clare FM every Sunday from 10pm to midnight. Tom recalled producing various albums with Pat and described him as a ‘perfectionist’. Kevin discussed his friendship with Tom and spoke about writing poems with him in Shannon. He also previewed the raffle and spot prizes available on the night and all musicians are welcome.
Funds raised by ticket sales on the night will go to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).
