On Tuesday’s Morning Focus, Alan was joined by Colm Liddy who is a historian and author. Colm discussed the townland of Moughna which is located in a triangle between Inagh, Ennistymon and Milltown Malbay. He described the townland itself which is 700 acres in size and located in a very mountainy area. He highlighted the history of the townland and the high amount of activity that took place in Moughna during the War of Independence. He also mentioned the cruel work the black and tans carried out in the area and gave us an insight into a tragic love story between a young English soldier and a local girl of republican background.
