Today marks the anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic in the early morning hours of 15 April 1912 in the North Atlantic Ocean.
Tony McMahon, a former member and former Mayor of Shannon Town Council was brought up 500 meters from Mary Agatha Glynn, a Clare Woman who survived the Titanic sinking.
Paddy Mc Mahon, Tony’s Brother, was a frequent visitor to the old Glynn’s homestead where Mary Agatha’s brother Billy lived until the mid 1950’s.
