Should the Sign of Peace be suspended during flu season?
A number of dioceses have decided to suspend the Sign of Peace at mass as a measure to stop the spread of the flu. This is happening as a result of public fear over a new strain of flu landing in Ireland.
Most Reverend Dr John Buckley has written to some 150 priests in 68 parishes asking them formally to suspend the Sign of Peace during mass.
