Clare County Council is pursuing a multi-million euro that involves the construction of a new bridge and other associated works to deal with the infamous traffic blackspot. Conway has expressed concerns that delays will lead to a completion date well into the next decade. Conway also touched on the closure of rural post offices.

Clare County Council has confirmed it’s target date for the completion of works adddressing traffic issues at Blake’s Corner is late 2021 or early 2022.
The local authority is persuing a multi-million euro plan that involves the construction of a new bridge, and other associated works, to deal with the infamous traffic blackspot.
The council has told Clare FM that it will begin engaging with landowners before the end of this year, while a detailed design is expected to be completed by late 2019.
The will be followed by and 18 month construction phase.
