Schools Face Challenges In Re-Opening Due To COVID-19

The extent of the challenges posed to Clare schools by the coronavirus have been laid bare by new class size statistics.

Department of Education data shows nearly a fifth of Clare’s primary school students – 2,581 in total, across 32 different schools here – are in classes of at least thirty pupils.

While this is ordinarilly a significant problem, it’s an even bigger issue now as social distancing will be prove very difficult in those schools when they return later this year.
