A Scariff couple’s journey to Palestine in 2022 has become the inspiration for a powerful documentary exploring the concept of Sumud – the steadfast resilience that shapes everyday life for many Palestinians.
The Art of Resistance: The Art of Sumud has already been screened in venues across Ireland and in Chicago, and it will now be shown as part of the Scariff Harbour Festival, followed by a discussion featuring the filmmakers and former Gaza school principal Fatma Abuawwad, who has rebuilt her life in Ireland after being displaced by war.
