On Tuesday’s Morning Focus, Alan Morrissey was joined by Philip Duffy, fiddle player and author.
The well known Sligo fiddle player, has written what could very well be the definitive tome on some of Ireland’s greatest céilí bands.
‘On The Night’ is the name of the book and it contains almost 1,000 pages and is accompanied by by two music CD’s.

The book brings to the surface hundreds of musicians behind the Fleadh Ceoil na hÉireann Senior Céilí Band Competition over a seventy-year period from 1951 to 2021.
Philip highlighted how long it took to produce the book and also explained how he gathered the information for each musician.
