Are New International Travel Restrictions Strong Enough?

Cabinet yesterday agreed to extend current level 5 lockdown restrictions until March 5th.

However, a number of travel restrictions will be introduced.

These include – mandatory quarantine in designated accommodation for anyone arriving into Ireland without a negative PCR test or for those travelling from South Africa and Brazil, an increase in the policing of the required two weeks of self-isolation for all travelers arriving into Ireland and Garda checkpoints near ports and airports.

However there is some backlash to the decision not to implement a mandatory quarantine period for all international travelers entering the country.
