New Government For Ireland, Two New Senators For Clare

Senators Roisín Garvey and Timmy Dooley

Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin was appointed Taoiseach at the weekend, after more than three decades in politics.

But is first days in office have not been without controversy, particularly over the lack of a senior Minister from West of the Shannon.

Nonetheless, he did bolster Clare’s political representation, as both Timmy Dooley (FF) and Roisín Garvey (Greens) were appointed to the Seanad.

We heard from both of them on Monday’s Morning Focus (Roisín from 18:36 and Timmy from 28:18) but before that, former Clare FF Minister for Defence Tony Killeen gave his insight.
