On Wednesday’s Morning Focus, Alan Morrissey was joined by Maurice Harvey, Chairperson of the the Clare Older People’s Council and Killaloe representative & Fianna Fail Councillor, Tony O’Brien.
The NCT’s decision to go cashless over the coming months is being branded as a sign of things to come. The NCT have announced that it will only accept card payments and postal orders in future.
The national car test operator says it’s taking the decision for the “safety and convenience” of its customers. The change will come into effect at test centres in the coming months.
Maurice expressed his opinion on the decision and highlighted that it will affect customer service and will be tough for those without bank accounts or access to the internet to change from their usual cash payments to digital payments.
Tony agreed with Maurice and highlighted that he does not agree with public services being totally cashless. He believes the decision should be reconsidered.
