The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) has apologised to female former international players, and trainees on a FAS soccer training course, who experienced alleged unwanted or inappropriate sexual advances from FAI coaches in the 1990s.
A joint Sunday Independent / RTE Television investigation detailed alleged unwanted or inappropriate sexual advances by a number of Irish football coaches towards female players in the 1990s.
To discuss this further, Peter O’ Connell spoke to RTÉ journalist from Sixmilebridge, Marie Crowe, who has worked with the Sunday Independent’s Mark Tighe on this.
Peter was also joined on the line by Irene Hehir, Ennis native FAI Accredited Coach.
