Ennistymon Mother Warns Of The Danger Of Sepsis

On Wednesday’s Morning Focus Alan Morrissey was joined by Audrey McGahon, from Ennistymon.

As September is sepsis awareness month Audrey discussed her daughters experience with sepsis, live in studio.

Molly came home from school one day complaining of a pain in her back, had a very high temperature and was sleepy.

Later that night after a visit to the GP and Shannon Doc Molly was brought to the ED in Limerick where she was diagnosed with septic shock by a nurse who recognized the symptoms.

Molly was transferred by ambulance to Temple street Children’s Hospital and the worst was feared.
