On Thursday’s Morning Focus, Pat Flynn was joined by Monica McKenna, coordinator for the Ukrainian Response Programme and Alina Senkova, Ukrainian Intercultural Worker who organised the festival.
Clare Local Development Company invites people to attend the Clare Festival of Ukrainian Culture which is set to take place the 18th of August and will run until the 20th of August in Ennis.
Monica discussed why they put the festival together and how the idea came about. She also described the work her and the Ukranian Response Programme have been carrying out.
Alina highlighted how tough it was settling into her new home in Ireland and explained that the festival will be a good way for the Ukrainian Community to settle in and also to showcase Ukrainian culture for their new neighbours.
Monica and Alina both outlined what you can expect to see at this highly anticipated event.
