It’s not all doom and gloom though, as Clare County Council’s Waste Enforcement Team is tackling the scourge and in just the last two months has collected over 760 tonnes of waste from designated sites in Ennis, Scariff, Inagh, Lisdeen, and Shannon.

Clare County Council Senior Executive Environment Engineer Brendan Flynn told Clare FM’s Daragh Dolan exactly what’s being done to tackle the illegal dumping problem and outlined the alternative options available to dispose of the waste materials.

To discuss this further, Alan Morrissey was joined by Ardnacrusha Fianna Fáil Councillor, Rachel Hartigan, and Clarecastle Fine Gael Councillor, Paul Murphy.
